Privacy

Our guiding principle with regards to privacy is to take the least amount of information required to run Choose Our Cause and to explain clearly the purpose of the information we do need access to. As we add new services we will amend the privacy policy to reflect any increased data use we have. As a United Kingdom based company Zoinetworks complies with the standards laid out by the UK Information Commissioners Office (ico.gov.uk).

User recommendations

Data: This is a text list of books, films, television, music and other recommendations drawn initially from a User's social network profile and subsequently added to the My Recommendations application.

Use: This text list will be auctioned to advertisers who will serve relevant advertisements alongside the list when a specific link is clicked. Advertisers will pay an agreed rate on a cost per click basis which will be shared equally between Zoaids users and Zoinetworks Limited.

User profile data

Data: This is data from a user identifying them on a social network.

Use: The purpose is to link a users profile with their Choose Our Cause account to enable revenue sharing.

User clicks

Data: This is the data generated when a user clicks on an advertising link within the My Recommendations application.

Use: To combat click fraud we monitor all clicks on advertisements. The purpose of this is to maintain the integrity of the Choose Our Cause system to ensure we are providing a good service to advertisers who purchase links. Advertiser confidence in Choose Our Cause is critical to maintaining the revenue flow we share with our users.

User account data

Data: This is the account data a user enters when they create an account at www.chooseourcause.com.

Use: We use this data to allow users to accumulate and withdraw revenues from clicks within the My Recommendations application.

User causes data

Data: This is the list of causes supported by the user along with the percentage allocations.

Use: We use this data to make sure the user's causes receive the revenue generated by their My Recommendations application in the proportions set by the user.

Our aim is to have the best privacy policy for our users. We think the best way to achieve that is to open our privacy policy to user suggestions so if you spot anything you think we should change, tell us and we'll take a look at the issue. Either we will accept the change or if necessary explain more clearly why we need the data to run the system.
