Choose Our Cause is a tool which makes your friends recommendations easy to find and raises funds for your favourite cause. Here's how it works:

Add the Choose Our Cause Facebook application. Advertisers pay each time one of your friends click on an ad in your profile and we split the funds 50:50 with you. As advertisers bid on specific terms it is best if you enter titles separated by commas, for example your TV recommendations; The Wire, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Sopranos. http://apps.facebook.com/chooseourcause

Create a Choose Our Cause account here. Then you can nominate a cause you support or withdraw the cash using your PayPal account. http://chooseourcause.com/index.php? task=register

To start sharing revenue you will need to link up your Facebook application and Choose Our Cause account. You can do this by going to the 'Revenue Sharing' tab on the Facebook application and entering your Choose Our Cause details.

We started Choose Our Cause to support HiCEP, the Hiran Community Education Project. HiCEP is a UK registered charity which provides educational facilities to the community in the town of Beled-Weyne, Somalia. HiCEP was founded by Daud Hassan Ali, the father of one of our founders, Robleh Ali. You can find out more about HiCEP by visiting hicep.org.uk.
